I mean I'm good with banning Nazi's from owning guns. But I have no idea how to actually enforce that. And before you ban anyone you sure as shit better have real due process where people you know, have a right to go to court before losing their rights.

And of course than you have the problem of if guns are everywhere, is it really that hard for someone banned from getting a gun who wants to commit a serious crime, from just getting a gun illegally?

Has it really worked that well at stopping convicted felons from possessing firearms?

Solid post. It comes down to either banning guns or not. But, you can't "red flag" someone you don't like or has an opposing political view. Because if certain people get control of the red flag tags, I can tell you who would lose their guns first.

This isn’t 1970. There isn’t a single thing that happens in this country that the FBI doesn’t know about before it happens. With the surveillance capabilities they possess nowadays, the only logical reason I see for most of this shit not being thwarted is the ability to illegally surveil citizens is way more important than admitting they do it by stopping it.

It’s laughable that some people think a law is magic.

Just get rid of guns, make it illegal to own them.

I’m pretty sure adults having sex with children is illegal, most drugs, drinking and driving, murder, theft, etc. All of that still goes on. Laws don’t prevent the act from taking place, it just defines who the criminal is and who the law abiding citizen is.

Criminals aren’t going to simply turn in their guns, they’re going to see the people that do as potential marks.

I mean I don't care about guns for myself. I own a 12 gage given to me by my grandpa that has been passed down. I'd never give it up or turn it in but I also haven't done anything with it in ages. Why the hell should I give it up? Does me turning it in do any good for anyone?

I'm all for stopping gun violence. I hate it and I think it's awful. I just am not for doing things that aren't effective just for the sake of doing things.
