Are they just going to ignore this:

There's two problems with this:

1. Today's soldiers are no longer of the "soldiers blindly follow orders" ilk
2. Most of these soldiers have family and friends on BOTH sides of this (and I don't think I'd be wrong in saying that the majority of the fighting personnel lean right).

So, if the US Government were to turn the military on its own people, they may end up with a bigger problem than they anticipated.
