I recall Killer Bees being a thing back then, especially since we lived in Arizona and they were gonna fly over the border from Mexico and sting everybody to death.
Remember the acid rain scare?

So true. I have such a clear memory of sitting in front of a TV at my grandparents' house when 20/20 (pretty sure it was them) did a story on the killer bees. They tried to make it sound like a real-life cheesy horror movie.

The "new ice age" scare in the 60s-70s? They just changed the name to "global warming" now.

It is becoming very fine tuned.
They have been trying that shit for over a century. And, admittedly, they have gotten better at it. Either that or the general public has gotten stupider.

I thought he meant my unparalleled ability to be timestamped.

Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, blizzards, wildfires, etc. When you think about it, North America was a shitty place to start a country.

The hole in the ozone scare?

I remember when I worked at McDonald's they still had the old styrofoam containers and people began complaining because they thought it was killing the ozone. So they switched to cardboard containers. Meanwhile the McDonald's styrofoam containers were 100% chlorofluorocarbon free, which means they weren't harming the ozone at all. The change was for show.
