Shefter: Chiefs S Eric Berry carted off practice field today with a leg injury.
It's not serious though, according to the Chiefs. I wonder if they are like Dallas with the "not serious" thing the day before the guy ends up with an amputation.

Falcons tackle Sam Baker carted off with knee injury

The plan in Atlanta was to play No. 6 overall pick Jake Matthews at right tackle as a rookie, with veteran Sam Baker manning the blind side for the Falcons. That plan might have to change.

Baker was carted off the field Saturday night in Houston with a right knee injury. He was emotional as he was helped up to his feet and clearly could not put any pressure on his leg. He did not return.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported early Sunday, citing a source, that the early diagnosis is a torn patella tendon. If tests confirm it, the injury would almost certainly end his season.

Baker was only able to play four games last season because of a knee injury. He has also struggled with back problems in a career that has been up-and-down since getting taken in the first round in the same draft as Matt Ryan. Losing Baker would be a big blow to an offensive line that struggled badly last season.

Matthews, who struggled with speed rushes on Saturday night while playing right tackle, could be moving across the offensive line soon.

Blessing in disguise for them. This allows Tre Mason to get on the field more.
He did not impress me yesterday. Danced a lot, which is not his thing at Auburn.

B.J. Raji tears biceps, will miss Packers' season

Coach Mike McCarthy said following Friday night's 31-21 victory over the Oakland Raiders that Raji was "pretty confident" about the injury he suffered during the contest.

However, that confidence quickly dissipated Saturday.

Raji signed a one-year, $4 million prove-it deal with the Packers in the offseason. He drew raves at Packers camp for his play after sliding back to nose tackle. Losing the space-eating Raji is a hit for a defense that has designs on turning the unit around under Dom Capers after several lackluster seasons.

The 28-year-old's play had slipped in the last few years as he moved to defensive end. The Packers anticipated Raji clogging the middle in 2014, allowing their linebackers to roam free and make plays.

Without him Green Bay will look to second-year pro Josh Boyd and undrafted rookie Mike Pennel in the short term. Letroy Guion was signed this offseason as a backup at nose tackle but is battling a hamstring injury.

This one is a pretty significant one.

I was hoping the Rams would hang in there in the NFC West. Maybe Hill is the type of safe, vet QB that can keep that great D in games.

It's torn. This fucking guy is as fragile as a pane of glass.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/24/report-bradford-done-for-year-with-acl-tear/?cid=Yahoo

The Rams went all in on Sam Bradford this season. And he’s now out before the season even began.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Bradford tore the ACL in his left knee. It’s the ACL that replaced the ACL Bradford tore last October, after starting the year with 14 touchdown passes and four interceptions.

Per Mortensen, Bradford will miss the entire 2014 campaign. He’ll nevertheless earn his full base salary of $14.015 million, pushing his five-year earnings north of $65 million.

Bradford entered the NFL with significant durability concerns, after missing all of 2009 after a hit that appeared to be routine re-injured his shoulder in the first college football game of the year at Oklahoma. He appeared in all 16 games in 2010, winning the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year award. He was limited to 10 games in 2011 before playing the full season in 2012.

He will end up playing seven total games from 2013 to 2014, at a total salary of more than $23 million in the two seasons combined.

The development comes after the Rams stubbornly displayed a high degree of confidence in Bradford, who’ll now enter the final year of his rookie deal with more questions than ever before. At a base salary of $12.985 million for 2015 and a cap number of $16.58 million, the Rams will have to decide whether to keep Bradford or whether to move on.

Green Bay just announced Bulaga tore his MCL. No word yet how bad or how long he's expected out.

Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga has been diagnosed with a torn MCL in his left knee, according to ESPN.com. An MCL tear isn't as severe as an ACL tear, so Bulaga will return this season. However, as of right now, it hasn't been determined how long he'll be out. ESPN.com added that it takes two to four weeks for an MCL tear to heal.

C'mon, now. Who you gonna believe, me or Schefter?

I'm leaning towards reporting that Bulaga will have to be put down like a race horse with a shattered leg.

Colts DE Robert Mathis tore his Achilles working out, so he won't be coming back from his suspension.
