Dolphins cut LaMike James

Dolphins running back LaMike James touched the ball only twice on Sunday at Washington, both on kickoff returns, and on one of those two returns he fumbled. That fumble may have been the final straw for James.
Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said today that the Dolphins are cutting James.
James was involved in an altercation with teammate Landry Jones last week, but that doesn’t seem to be a part of the Dolphins’ decision to cut him. Instead, it’s simply a matter of James being unable to contribute consistently, either on offense or on special teams.
A second-round draft pick of the 49ers in 2012, James hasn’t had much of an impact anywhere in his NFL career. James played for Chip Kelly at Oregon, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Eagles pick him up, but it also wouldn’t be shocking if James remains unemployed.
