Tell me one thing we buy from China we couldn't make here. Hell, if you want cheap labor I know a country South of here I would much rather enrich.

I'm not saying you couldn't, but the cost would at least double and it would take a lot of time and money to get everything ready.

Meh. I think we'd be fine without China. Only thing we need them for is rare earth metals. Our country would be better off if we start making stuff again. Maybe prices will go up and we'll have less stuff but more of our fellow citizens will have good jobs that are well paying and they can take pride in.

What would be cool is if we could start turning our prisons into factories. Not slave factories, but places where people could learn useful things like work ethic and skill sets.

I know they already have work release programs for some convicts, but instead of fighting fires, they could learn how to make a fidget spinner, a yo-yo, or an iPhone.

It’s all about money to to them.

If you figure out a way to compensate their families beyond putting money on an inmates books, maybe putting away a portion of money into a fund to send their children to college since they can’t do that shit themselves. Or maybe, if they aren’t lifers, you can train them for life on the outside. GED classes or college credit programs so they are somewhat on the right path when they get out.

Look, I agree he could have done some things faster, but lying about what happened is the last thing we need right now. And China's lies absolutely affected our response and they should be punished for it

Unfortunately he's the President as woefully inadequate as he is. But we're not gonna get a new one until this crisis is mostly over. We are still fucking up, by the way. Not sure why it's so damn hard for everybody to get on the same page. These fucking governors who aren't shutting things down are just setting us up for a long, long road to recovery. Here's a pretty good site. Depressing though. They are estimating Texas won't peak until the beginning of May. So frustrating.
