Well sure, bad weather hits all over. Especially tornadoes. But there are certain areas in Kansas, Oklahoma, etc... where they are known to hit a lot more frequently. Every damn year.

You couldn't pay me enough to live in one of these areas that continually get smashed by tornadoes or hurricanes.


Same goes for the areas that have to be evacuated every year because of fires. Fuck that noise.

Tornado alley has shifted a lot since I was a kid. They used to be mostly confined to those regions you referenced. Now it seems as if southern states are getting hit just as frequently.

Also, Texas gets a ton of tornados as well.

North Texas has always been very active as it's very close to Tornado Alley.

They're unlikely down here in Houston but they do happen. We had one touch down back in May that did serious damage on both the NW part of town and in downtown itself.

As for the South, you're right. Mississippi and Alabama have become very hot areas for tornadoes in the last decade or so.

Yeah, that's gonna be scary for South Florida.

They're fortunate to escape the hurricane's direct path, but the storm is so big that the eastern side of it is going to have its effects on South, and that's the bad part of the storm.

That's the "dirty" side that the violent weather comes from so while they won't have to deal with a hurricane, they will have to deal with 12-18 hours of constant tornado warnings and anyone who lived through Harvey here in Houston in 2016 can tell you how mentally stressful that experience was.

I have to admit that I go into full storm chaser mode sometimes. I love the rush.

But I stop at colored skies and double rainbows.
