How does a price go negative exactly? I'm clearly not understanding the graph. Was someone paying us to take oil off their hands?
No. Oil itself wasn't in the negative. But it was costing companies to store oil that was already produced. A lot of wells could not be shut in, and still had to be produced. (wells with salt/paraffin problems) Since nobody was buying the product and production costs were still being accrued, that is how the negative price was being shown. At least that was how it was explained to me anyway.

That makes sense. Which is why when you look at the graph the entire year of 2020 was pretty stellar pricing. And then starting in 2021 things began to climb above the pre 2020 rates.

Um no, I think very much the opposite when you see a trend very clearly start when you transition from one President to the next. There are a lot of policy decisions inside the United States that impact those prices. It also shows that this wasn't something just sparked by the war with Russia. This is a upward trend that started at the beginning of 2021 and has only been accelerated by the war. March isn't shown yet but the number is 4.17 from what I can tell right now. Pretty massive jump as well.
So liberal Obama starts with $3 and ends with $2 and drill everything Trump starts with $2 and ends with $2.60...

Oil futures went to zero in the final day of two of the contract when there was a short squeeze and people were paying to get someone to take the contract off their hands. It wasn't really zero on the spot market I don't think.

Um you either don't know when Presidents change or something. Trump ended at 2.284 and started at 2.366.

Obama started at 1.84 and ended at 2.366.

You see how one guys went up and the others went down? There are obviously other factors too. I mean our gas prices didn't just go up 60 cents a gallon strictly because of Biden. But the trend started long before this.

This also isn't a R vs. D thing. This is a shitty President not knowing what he is doing trying to strong arm a "Green movement" vs. all other normal Presidents.

Leftists arguing a retarded point that they don't know enough about to try to support an agenda for a conclusion they've already drawn while attempting to support their argument with data that actually contradicts what they are trying to say.

Name a more iconic duo.

Interesting things going on as some Ukrainians are getting out, flying down to Mexico and now being turned away at the border.

What I don't understand is that they have been designated as TPS.

They are no different than the Vietnamese, Burmese, Nepali, Congolese, Eritrean, Ethiopian, Croatian, Guatemalans, Senegalese, Syrians and Venezuelan refugees that have been brought to this country for resettlement.

Hell, send their asses here. I will proudly find work for them. If they are even remotely like the Croatians I have hired, they are machines and it is all about family.

Bring them on. I’ll put some of them to work.

Might be like the Cubans... afraid they won't vote the right way.

I agree. I've known some Ukranians, they are usually hard workers.
