I am doing good. Today marks 2 weeks sober. I have my appetite back. (I had lost almost 30 lbs total) I have gained 10 of that back already. And when I say I have gotten my appetite back, I mean Sally Struthers would be mad at me for not leaving anything for the starving kids in Africa.
Proud of you brother. Keep it up. Hopefully the hardest part is nearing an end.

3 weeks today.
How are you feeling?

They say 21 days is what it takes for you start physically feeling the differences of a new pattern or routine whether that be exercise, a new diet, etc.

How are you feeling now, bud?

I feel really good. I have started to walk normal again (I had lost a lot of energy), so that's awesome. The only thing that is still a problem really is my sleep patterns. I have not been sleeping well up until last night. Still crushing the sweet tea which I think has replaced the muscle memory habit of reaching to take a drink of beer. But, overall, I feel great. Been doing some exercises to help build back some muscle mass and energy. This shit will not beat me.

I feel pretty good. It would be better if I could get back to a normal sleep schedule. But, overall, I am good. We are getting a gym membership this next month. I think that will be invaluable to get my energy and stamina back where it was 5 years ago. I know it's still going to be a long road, but I feel like I'm mentally ready for it.

Working out will do wonders for you and speed up your mental and physical recovery. In early recovery, our neurotransmitters are not ‘firing’ as they should. Physical exercise repairs that.

That's awesome. Really glad to hear you've turned the corner and are well on your way to recovery.

Bad news from the doc today. I have a fatty liver, really low blood count, I’m anemic. So I to stay in the us place at least two more days. But I did every but if it to my self. Just glad they caught the liver when they did or it would have turned into cirrhosis that would have probably killed me.
Re-reading this thread (to read again all of the encouraging words you all had) and ran across this post. Man, I butchered this post. :lol No telling what all they pumped me full of. I'm sure they told me, but I was only about halfway cognizant.

On that note, it's absolutely amazing how much more clear-headed I am now versus before. I almost feel like I finally got what little intelligence back that I had before.

Hopefully one day you will get your funny back, maybe even for the first time.
