But I do know from talking to many of my fellow Republicans that more often than not, in 2016 he was their 17th choice out of the field of 17 candidates, but when it came to the general election they had to vote for the guy with the R after his name.

But the truth is, its either that or the guy with the D after his name. Which as we're seeing, is far worse.
