The suspect is Vance Boelter, 57 year old guy that was an appointee of Tim Walz. And No Kings protest pamphlets were found in his car. Doesn’t really sound like he’s a republican. Sorry.

Speculation is that he was angry with them for not voting 100% along party lines.
Interesting. Hadn’t seen the name released yet. Appreciate that, NoDak.

I also wonder how many of these “protests” (if anyone can even call them that) will result in violence. I suspect many.

And we don't even know yet who did this or what their motivation was. Apparently the woman was recently one of only two Dems to vote against state welfare to illegal immigrants.

Just like with that Luigi loser, assassinating people is never the answer.

Dangit NoDak you timestampin' sonofabitch
I agree with refusing to provide state welfare to an illegal immigrant. State funding should only apply to citizens and legal immigrants (green card holders, etc.) since it’s tax dollars being used. If someone wants to help illegal immigrants, then either donate to charities or do what Booze does and employ them while helping them find paths to citizenship.

I think it’s time to stop the empty nonsensical statements that only Democrats commit random acts of violence. Both sides are guilty of it, because they’re fueled by the lies and hate of the people they vote for.
Aaaaand it was a Tim Waltz appointee.

Of note, the rest of the politicians on his hit list were all Democrats, and some of his other targets were abortion clinics.

That's a WWII era Sherman tank. I would kind of expect it to squeak and hear the clacking of their old tracks.
I’ve always wanted to own one of those.

NEW YORK (AP) — The man accused of assassinating the top Democrat in the Minnesota House held deeply religious and politically conservative views, telling a congregation in Africa two years ago that the U.S. was in a “bad place” where most churches didn’t oppose abortion.

Vance Luther Boelter, 57, was captured late Sunday. The arrest was confirmed to The Associated Press by two law enforcement officials were who were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the ongoing investigation and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.

Authorities say Boelter impersonated a police officer and gunned down former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, in their home outside Minneapolis. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz described the shooting as “a politically motivated assassination.”

Sen. John Hoffman, also a Democrat, and his wife, Yvette, were shot earlier by the same gunman at their home nearby but survived.

Friends and former colleagues interviewed by AP described Boelter as a devout Christian who attended an evangelical church and went to campaign rallies for President Donald Trump. Records show Boelter registered to vote as a Republican while living in Oklahoma in 2004 before moving to Minnesota where voters don’t list party affiliation.

“Devout Christian”. So much for the “Thou Shalt Not Kill” part of the Ten Commandments.

Am I the only one who is somewhat entertained by whoever is signing at these Minnesota shooter press conferences? I can't help but to think of that fake signer in Africa a few years ago.

I mean, you could be right, but it sure seems odd with the No Kings shit in his car and the whole working for Tim Waltz thing. I personally would never be caught dead with either of those things. Even if he does turn out to be a MAGA supporter, I certainly don't condone any of the shit he did though. Sorry, I know that isn't what you want to hear but it is what it is.
Also doesn't really add up that the people he attacked, voted against Democrat lines and sided with the Republicans.

He also had a lit list of other Democrats, though, so it’s possible that he was going to target protestors as well. I’m sure that more details will surface in the coming days, but he’s looking more and more like a MAGA extremist.

Again, it could be. So far though, the only thing I have seen that says that is the weird Papa Johns guy. He wasn't registered as such in that state, because they don't register like that. I know he was registered in Oklahoma that way, but it was early 2000's so I am not sure that still held true. I guess we will see when they tell us.
