Dallas was the 16th most productive pass offense last season, and I think that's too low.
If we're going to improve passing production it's gotta be at the #2-#4 spots and backup TE. The other two are already great.
We all hope Williams takes the next step after being the same his first two years.
Beasley improved greatly from his first year, why to feathers get so ruffled when I say he still needs to improve in year 4?
Well, then that means he is really good at YAC if he is catching short passes yet still getting 500 yards a season.
YAC becomes less of an important stat the shorter your passes are. If you only gain 7 yards, who cares if 5 of it was YAC? He's averaging 11 yards per catch, and needs to improve that overall. Not saying he can't do that.
How many #3s move into the #1 role after some development? And, I'm not talking about one offs. I'm talking about on a regular basis. It rarely happens.
??
Packers, Steelers, and Patriots all work that way and I respect the Hell out of each of those front offices. Next man up-- a pipeline. That should be our goal, not the way average and below average teams do it.
Cobb, Edelman, and Brown were all #3's and even #4's at one point.
