What are you referring to?
Yesterday someone asked this dumbfuck if he‘d uphold the Constitution and he said, “I don‘t know”.
Where do I start? How about the last hundred years of complete disregard for the Constitution’s explicit, written text by mostly Democratic administrations but certainly many of the Republican ones too.
Pick an issue and the Democrats have probably violated explicit text of the Constitution. Then they’ll act like it’s the first time it’s ever occurred when Steve Bannon says “Sure the Constitution prevents three terms but we’re looking into that.” Democrats have been inventing new and contradictory definitions of what the Constitution says verbatim for a long time, they even have a term for it: “living constitution,” which means, we can say it means whatever we want depending on the time of day.
Trump has that air of NJ bimbo about him and he speaks off the cuff like you would at a bar and that’s not a great way to run a country. And to some degree I believe him when he says he hasn’t considered what the Fourth Amendment has to say about something because that’s not who he is. Yes that is concerning and he kind of is a dumbfuck. I’d obviously prefer my President to have spent more than three seconds thinking about complex Constitutional issues and I very much doubt Trump has, for the most part.
You know what that’s better than though? The deliberate, informed undermining of the Constitution. The commerce clause. Tax and spend clause. The second amendment. The expansion of the powers of the executive branch that Democrat Presidents have been all too happy to push for. The relegation to the trash can of the Ninth and Tenth amendments. We can go on. The left is far, FAR more guilty of the abdication of the rule of law, if the rule of law is Constitutional text. The left figured out that they can win elections if they have activist judges, among others, lie to the public’s face about what the Constitution says or means. They are doing it as we speak by their judicial obstructionism with Trump’s executive actions in reducing the size and expenditures of federal departments.
Why should I be concerned if a Republican president does it then? The left has been doing it to us on a far greater scale for a century. And now you are alarmed? That’s team sports my friend. That’s party homerism. At least Trump is doing it to get rid of criminals. I’m not so concerned about that old adage of “better that a thousand guilty men go free than one innocent man be in jail,” when the last four years was a bold faced, blatant attempt to subvert the rule of law by actively aiding illegal immigration… so that the Democratic Party could increase their voter base. Rule of law though right? What about the FACTUAL illegal wiretapping of Carter Page conducted by the Obama administration? Any answer for that? Funny I didn’t see you on here bemoaning how the Obama administration was subverting the rule of law. What about the secret, covert pressuring of social media companies to hide stories that were disfavorable to democrats or favorable to Republicans? Is a free press necessary to maintain the rule of law? Trump says mean things to a CNN anchor and it’s an attack on the press! But no one on the left has boo to say about the CIA actively colluding with social and legacy media to lie to the American public, which is undeniably about a bazillion times more serious and more alarming. I thought you guys liked whistleblowers? Yet Elon Musk - and again, all this is established, of-record fact at this point - blows the whistle on this government collusion and pressure on media companies and because of that he’s Public enemy #1 to you twits.
Perhaps it’s because you don’t really care? (Or because you actually want the corruption to remain in place to aid your team, as is the case with your side’s feelings about Musk). So why should I take you seriously?
Line up behind me to overturn Wickard v. Filburn and I’ll believe your sincerity. If not, then you don’t care about the Constitution or the rule of law. You just don’t like the things Trump is doing. Politically.
You guys don’t care about the rule of law. At all. You’re complete hypocrites.
Everything you’ve done is ten times worse than the piddling “riot” on January sixth where not one single officer or congressperson was killed or even seriously injured and where it in no way whatsoever had any efffect on the outcome of the election.
So I’m still waiting to hear all the outrage about lying to a FISA court to get a warrant though. Any day now. That was unarguably done to influence the outcome of an election. Where’s the treason charges against Barack Obama? He’s far guiltier than Trump.
This is why people like Irv bashing their heads in to rage against Trump sound so dumb. Of course Trump is saying stupid things and lying a bunch. But it’s about FAR LESS IMPORTANT THINGS and FAR LESS OFTEN than all the other administrations we’ve suffered under for the past hundred years. Stop trying to sell me the lie that Trump deporting illegal immigrants without due process is worse than the colluded, secret effort to open the borders and flood our country with people breaking the law so that the Democratic Party could gain an edge in voter registration. That’s what was happening. The last administration did it and lied about it. That’s way worse than some dummy that got his ass sent to Nicaragua.
The big lie here is the one that says Trump is unique. He’s demonstrably less harmful in fact because pretty much everything he does is actually in furtherance of the goal of REDUCING the government’s ability to harm you later.
