You'd think that Covid would have taught us to make more of our own stuff instead of being at China's mercy, but you'd be wrong.
And what makes anyone think that anything will change now? It won’t. Hence, why his tariffs are fucking retarded. If he wants tariffs, then cut federal taxes to a flat 5% to offset the money he’s stealing from us.

Two masters degrees in finance and economics and I work in the defense industry where we’re dependent on the imported raw materials for satellites and missiles.

What irritates me is that neither the Democrats nor the Republicans evaluate the real options on the table: eliminate the industry regulations and allow companies to return to manufacturing. There’s a lot more that we can do as a country to minimize the needs for imports, but labor costs are much higher here. But, rather than exploring other means to offset costs, they ignore the issue entirely and drive up trade debt. But, tariffs won’t change that.

Ah, you hate Trump a lot because he’s not a Warhawk.

That’s perfectly fine, I’d hate him too if I sold war materials and he refused to start any new wars.

Do you have a picture of John Bolton in your wallet?

I don’t hate him because he isn’t a warhawk. I respect that about him, actually. I always have concerns about national security regardless of who the president is (look no further than how badly Biden botched the Afghanistan exit), so that isn’t anything new. I dislike him because he keeps raising my taxes, keeps spending money like a drunken sailor (like every other president as well) causes inflation, and isn’t 2A friendly. Until he lowers my taxes, fixes his god awful tax plan to allow my deductions to return so I’m no longer double taxed, and helps eliminate gun laws, then I’m going to stand against him.

My main point about the tariffs is that they will damage supply chains across every industrial base, not just my industry. That’s dangerous and can be economically disastrous. Supporting that is like cutting off your own foot for fear that China may step on your toe. Fucking with international trade like this - which is inherently irresponsible - could cripple us.

Show me where I spoke for the entire military.

I called you on your BS just take the L and move on.
I already showed you your blanket statement and you conveniently skipped on by. Oh well. So you and your imaginary L can continue to think you’re some kind of subject matter expert. You didn’t call out a damn thing.

I didn't call a damn thing out?

I could have sworn that was you falsely claiming these events are held on weekends and evenings during Soldiers' personal time.

Hold the L.

I believe that's literally what the administration's ultimate goal is. Unfortunately you can't just snap your fingers, it takes time.

Doesn’t happen when you keep raising taxes.
It amazes me that people keep believing this fucking con man.

It's funny because I ran across this interview of Reagan from 50 years ago and he was talking about a lot of the same things that Trump is talking about today - bloated government, overregulation, overspending, and government waste. It's really really hard to drain the swamp. So many people are invested in it. But at least we are trying finally. I hope it works.

Does this mean goods from Mexico are still unaffordable and will wreck the economy?

Man, this administration and what it's doing especially through DOGE has been so fucking needed. This is insanity. We've been spending literally billions of dollars on DEI for other countries.
