I'm sure they'll try, but this is a solid pick. Long career as a prosecutor and attorney general of Florida, whereas Gaetz was barely a lawyer for any amount of time before running for office. IMO, he's obviously a piece of shit bro boy who probably thinks rules don't apply to him at best, and a child predator at worst. Why anyone would think he would be a good pick for the top law officer in the entire country is completely befuddling to me, unless you just want to watch things blow up and burn.
