There's nothing these criminals won't weaponize.

It's funny because I see a lot of people say this is the most corrupt administration in US history, and I've always thought no, that's probably Harding.

But man I'm rethinking my opinion at this point.

There's probably a lot of corruption that we don't even know about. Why else would they (I say they because we all know Biden is barely functional so somebody is doing these things) do this?

Also, it's probably time to look at presidential pardons at this point.

At the very least there should be a post election moratorium on pardons. If you're an outgoing president as of right now you can pardon whomever with no political consequences. Probably not a great idea.

At least Ford pardoned Nixon immediately and therefore had political points to lose.

I know nothing about this, have never even heard it discussed. But is there any mechanism for a court, maybe only the Supremes, to say that a pardon has overstepped its bounds? I still don't understand pardoning someone for something they haven't even been accused of yet.

And I know Irv mentioned Ford's blanket pardon of Nixon, but Nixon's "crimes" were nothing like those that Fauci and Co. may have done.

I think it's absolutely ludicris to pardon someone for a crime that we may not even know yet. The guy could have done something worse than anyone even knows or could imagine. But hey, let's just pardon him for blanket unknown crimes?

And part of this is all fear mongering. Make it look like Trump is going to go after his political opponents but preemptively pardoning them. All this brought on because the Democrats think the Republicans will try and return the favor of what they have been doing for the last 4 years.

It's all fear mongering. It's to perperuate the idea that Trump will accuse Fauci of something he never did, then, I guess, create his own court that would find him guilty? The only courts so biased are the ones like Trump has been brought before in Manhattan or DC.

IOW, that he's a dictator, Hitler, etc. :doh

Unless... He knows Fauci actually did some illegal things.

Seeing on twitter that Biden just proposed a ban on congress trading stocks.

Of course he does it now two weeks from the end of his term. And after Pelosi just broke her hip. :doh

Where was this years ago? So blatant it's ridiculous.

And yet I still support it.

I don't think I support a ban on Congress trading stocks, for the same reason I don't support term limits. I don't think it solves the actual problem.

If they banned Congress from trading stocks, their cousin's wife's brother's best friend's roommate would be trading stocks for them.

The issue is insider trading and what they should be doing is enforcing what they'd enforce against anybody else. Congress people who trade stocks based on inside knowledge should be punished.

If we can stock trading entirely from Congress, it could have the unintended consequences of causing even more corruption and capturing by lobbyist and corporate or foreign and interests. Let them make money on the stock market if they can.

My mind can be changed on this but that's how I feel right now.
