NFL Preseason Week Four: Final Grades
August 30, 2013 by Josh Liskiewitz, Special Contributor
With week four’s games in the books it is time for my final reports on this year’s rookie class. The first thing you will notice is that each rookie ranked under a specific tier. This serves two purposes: First, the order each player listed is my actual ranking based off my preseason analysis. Second, the tiers themselves describe what I view as each player’s long term ceiling, and are not necessarily indicative of a player’s current role with his team. For example, I list Arthur Brown in the “Future Pro Bowler” tier, when in actuality he has yet to be named a starter for the Ravens. While Brown may only see limited reps in 2013, I believe that in the future he will not only be a starter in Baltimore, but make at least one trip to Hawaii during his career.
Clicking on a player’s name will take you to his final preseason report, which includes where I graded him coming out of college, the strengths and weaknesses he displayed in preseason, what his best NFL role and current role with his team is, as well as a long term projection. In total, I looked at well over 70 rookies during preseason play, and have final reports on 64 of these players (two from each team).
