If you think Rondo was going to play out of his mind all series, you're smoking some of Randy Gregory's good stuff.
Boston wasn't mentally prepared to start the series and the Bulls could do no wrong. It was as lopsided a start to a series as I've seen. Then IT4 started to play team ball again and the defense returned. Rondo isn't the reason Wade went 1-10 from the field last night.
The Bulls would've definitely won one of the two games in Chicago with Rondo and probably would've won the series. Nothing typifies the impact of the loss of Rondo better than when they were up by I think 2 going into the 4th in Game 5 on the road then had like 5 turnovers in 5 minutes because they had nobody who could run the offense, with Boston building a 8-10 point lead.
There is a better than 50/50 chance that the Bulls win that series with Rondo. The Celtics are nowhere near an elite team, they have no true superstars and don't have an extra gear in the playoffs, they basically got the 1 seed because the East is shit and Cleveland didn't start caring until about two weeks ago.
They're only marginally better than teams like Toronto and Washington and they could very easily lose to a Wizard team that is above average at best.
And if they manage to get by them I wouldn't expect them to give Cleveland any real trouble, it'd be over in 5 or an easy 6.
