They had a similar comparison between Jackson and one of the Phillies (can't remember if it was Harper or someone else), so yeah at least part of it is the eras. Way more playoff games are played today.

For my money, the two most clutch playoff performers from the 2000s onward would be David Ortiz and Jose Altuve.

That's uber tempting, but I think I'd pass. Our offense is pretty loaded already and we have a top ten MLB prospect named Wyatt Langford who could make the team right out of spring training - he's as good a prospect, if not better than Evan Carter.
We're talking 30+ HRs and .300 batting average potential.
Let's focus on re-signing Jordan Montgomery and acquiring 2-3 quality relievers. I'm good to even let Mitch Garver leave.
