That was a collosal fuck up by Cole to not cover 1st base.

That wasn't the only defensive mistake that inning but it was the most egregious.

What a brutal loss that was.

I don't remember the last time I saw a baseball game just be given away the way we saw the Yankees throw that one away in the 5th.

There were a number of blunders that inning but none more egregious than Cole terribly miscalculating the depth Rizzo was at and not running over to 1st base as a result.

It's a real shame too. Because I think had they gotten out of the inning unscathed as they should have and had gone on to win a one-sided game, I believe their confidence would've been sky high and Dodgers would have started getting tight and it would have made for a very interesting game 6.

Instead, Yankees fans will be left to wonder what if.
