Well, the Astros have won 12 of their last 14 to pull themselves within 2 GB of the Mariners.

I still think they come up short when it's all said and done, but at least they've made the second half of the season interesting, and that's something I never would have expected.

I think it was similar last year? I'll believe they're out when they're actually out.

Maybe the mid-season records were similar, but the circumstances couldn't be any more different.

They were never 15 games under .500 last season. And that matters..... don't discount the mental and physical toll that it takes to dig yourselves out of a hole like that.

Take solace in the fact that you're still the defending champions.

I've always said a championship buys you 5 years of collateral.
I guess I'm a fair weather fan. I haven't watched a game in over a month. This offense is really tough to watch.

Seriously, I don't even care if they suck for a while.

They won the World Series! The TEXAS MFING RANGERS!

Jose Miranda of the Twins just flied out to end a streak of 12 consecutive hits. 13 consecutive times on base. (he was hit by a pitch first inning today.) Tied a MLB record, last done in 1952.

Former Dodgers OF Raul Mondesi was sentenced to 6+ years in prison for embezzlement. Apparently he got into politics after leaving MLB and was misusing public funds while mayor of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic. He got popped on corruption charges back in 2017 as well.
