That's not true in the case of Mack and probably others.
You also have to judge Clark in our trade. We did not get fair compensation but if Clark is a borderline probowl DT there is value to that. Say he is worth a second/third if true. Anyway, I don't see the point in talking much more about it, we didn't get fair value for Parsons. Jerry is terrible at trading despite his over confidence in the way he does trades.

Yea after what I saw in the all-22 last night I think I'd value Clark as a "conditional" 3, with the potential to go up to a 2 if he can get back to 2023 form. If he actually is washed, which I very seriously doubt, it could go down to a 4.

I agree that it's still not fair value either way, but it's not as bad as tweets like that imply because 1. the tweet itself is wrong and/or purposely gaslighting people, and 2. we actually got more than the Mack deal in terms of pure picks.

I'd also take what we got over what Seattle got for Adams, even if at the end of the day we should've gotten more.

Hell, minus the player we got, the draft compensation is exactly what we paid for Joey Galloway, who wasn't remotely the best player in the league at his position.
I'd feel a lot better about the compensation if they traded him to a bottom-rung team, which obviously means those picks would likely be in the top 15.

Just gotta hope the Packers fall flat or are hit by injuries at key positions the next two seasons.

This and the fact that there should have been at least one more day 2 pick.

Yeah, that Morley dude appears to be a Packers megahomer. The equivalent of some of the BTB morons.

And I actually don't mind Clark at all, even if he's older. Say you got that late second or third... sounds good now, but what if that's another Bossman or Giraffe Wright?

Yeah 2 number ones alone is not good enough. And while I like Clark, I think he is at minimum a very good starter, I would have preferred a second round pick and a third kicked in or something like that. Would be different if we traded him to a team I think will be shitty. Like the Bears or something. But who knows the NFL can be crazy, maybe the Packers have a bad year.

Exactly what I was saying. GB is likely to be after around pick 20. That makes these two picks far less valuable (especially given the fact that Parsons will boost their defense significantly).

It's why I didn't think that even two 1sts and two seconds were enough. And we didn't even get that.

Clark is going to be legit but it should've been at least a 2 on top, maybe even two 2's.

The idea is volume. You're not going to hit every pick whether it's your own or acquired.

But the more picks you have, the more chances you have to hit, and maybe hit big. Especially premium picks.

It also gives you much more appealing ammo for potential trades. A trade partner would value a second round pick much more than they would value Clark.

Of course, I wish we got more too. Can never have enough draft.

But in the end, is a pick in the low 50s worth not doing this deal? What if the alternative was having him fake his back injury, miss games, be a huge distraction, and have his value continue to decline? I don't know I can say that would be worth it.

I'm not fully buying those reports coming out about Micah and his podcast being an issue in the locker room. Maybe it was a mild annoyance but the social media reaction by Cowboy players after the trade was announced tells me they were disappointed he was traded.

Jerry can trot out that lie about the team's "leadership council" okaying the trade all he wants. I saw for myself that multiple key players/veterans weren't happy with the move.

It's impossible to know what we should've done relative to a trade without knowing what sorts of other deals were on the table, so it really just comes down to our own guess of what we think should've been available.

It's also impossible to know what the real situation was with Micah in the locker room, I don't think it was quite as bad as is being portrayed but I also don't think it was nothing, especially with how over the top immature he was about the negotiations over the last month, which I think was the final straw.

Hooker called him out publicly about this stuff more than a year ago so I think there was something there, even if it's being exaggerated at the moment.

I don't either. Did he irritate some people? Was he kind of a different personality that some teammates didn't like?

I'm sure, but if a guy is talented enough, you live with it.

Micah always seemed like a good guy to me. Maybe a little immature, but not even close to some team-wrecker.

Yeah, I think there was probably something there. But I think it was probably mostly minor stuff that practically every NFL locker room has to deal with.

Well, no one’s going to be happy about losing their teammate except maybe if DLaw was still here.

Players don’t care about draft picks as much as real people. Most prolly don’t know Clark

I think they will love Clark once they get to know him.

But they don't give two shits about draft picks. 3 years from now when those picks are on the team and making real contributions half these players will be gone. Roster turnover in the NFL happens fast. So most of these guys won't be around to see what happens with the picks.
