So Dumb & Dumber should just continue with their current business model? Wouldn't the goal be to emulate the successful franchises?

Not every team can have a Mahomes as a QB. But shouldn't a team aspire to that? Shouldn't a team aspire to having the best offensive design?

Or have Dumb & Dumber tinker at the edges. Another team that wins games in the double-digits, makes the playoffs, and the goes limp at crunch time.
Yes, every team should aspire to have a Mahomes. Good luck with that.

We have tried that multiple fucking times over the years.

First, Jerry wanted to emulate the Raiders. Then the Patriots. Then the Eagles with how they signed and extended their own in the Joe Banner era. Also the Steelers. They like to pride themselves on being consistent, but at the same time deluding the fanbase that they are doing everything in their power to be successful. It is a carnival act.

Besides that, there is no secret formula. Dynasties have existed for all of the NFL's history, but not one of them was the same except for certain qualities.

Of course teams should aspire to have the best offensive design. That is kind of what got us Kellen Moore. Young hotshot, blah blah...look at the risks we are taking!

And that is pretty much most franchises. We just happen to suck at not being able to advance to the chance to even play for the Conference title.

The fact of the matter is that you are getting dangerously close to psychosis if you believe for a second that the Joneses have that passionate lust to win it all. Doing just enough to be relevant is working damn good for them.

Yeah, that's probably it. But if nothing's ever going to change, what good does it do to get down in the weeds with this draft pick or that draft pick, this free agent or that free agent, or this trade or that trade -- if none of it makes any difference?

Remember them trying to make Romo into a pocket passer like Brady? I remember.

You know what's cool. You don't have to get down into the weeds. Just keep yelling about Jerry. Worked great for me the first 20 years I started doing it.

So a one in a decade type QB. You may be waiting a life time until you draft one. If that's your strategy you're not playing the odds.

The “Romo-friendly” era. I am not certain we are in the “Dak-friendly” era though. It was when we had Amari. But twice on Prescott’s career he has been saddled with a bargain basement WR group.

Because false hope is what is sold to this fan base. But we are stable and that is all that matters.

We have lucked into two QBs that teams spend tons and tons of capital and just to flail away. The two of them have been literal gifts that have been thrown their way and they have squandered both.

The simple thing is that the Joneses are so comfortable, they never go for the kill. That, you see, requires A) Money and B) Work.

They just are adverse to things they don’t know about. It frightens and confuses them.

Risk in core business, like what made Jones money before is not the same. This is their money press. They could do this shit for another generation.
