We all know Wentz isn't good, the beauty of it is that he's just average enough to get them to like 7 wins or so, and out of range for a top 5 pick.

Weird timing.
I guess they allowed him to keep his job until after his dad was elected to the HoF.

It it pretty rare that a team fires a positional coach at this stage of training camp.

It’s so weird. There has to be something we don’t know yet.

The article I read mentioned that Rivera wasn't pleased with what he was seeing in camp so he decided to make the change.

Can't say I blame him. They have three or four 1st rounders on the DL yet their DL still underperformed last year. Now they're two weeks into camp and the DL still looks substandard.

But why not do it way earlier? Just odd.

Probably wanted to give him the opportunity to rebound from a bad season but he wasn't seeing the progress that he expected to see. Also, remember in 2020 their DL was one of the best in the NFL. So I could see why he gave him a little extra rope.

To me this is poor team management.
