I mean I've asked myself that question, do I hate the Tushy Push because I hate the Eagles? Or do I hate it because it's a bullshit play that doesn't really fit in the NFL. But I really think I just hate the play in general. It takes excitement out of the fourth and 1 play which has always been a nail biting play. Instead we are just going to let the team have it. That's not good for the sport.
The issue is it gives one side an almost insurmountable advantage. It would be like removing offensive holding on pass plays.

But would you ban a straight QB sneak?

I don't think you can, even if it's effective.

The real issue is that the Eagles do a bunch of shit during the play that isn't germane to football, namely lining offensive players up in the backfield and having them ram into the ball-carrier to push them and the pile forward. Often times they will subtly lift Hurts up a bit to keep him from going to the ground.

It's like if you lined up 2 TE's behind a RB and had them follow the RB into the hole just waiting to drive the pile forward on contact, and I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen that yet.

They've made a point to crack down on OL trying to push ballcarriers for a few extra yards downfield, the only difference here is that it's such a mass of humanity and it happens so quickly that they can't fully stop it.

I have no clue why they won't just ban having guys come in from behind, just make it a traditional QB sneak and that's it, simple.

I honestly don't understand how they didn't get enough votes to overturn this. Are the other owners just not wanting to look jealous? Afraid of sour grapes accusations? No idea what they're thinking.

As much as I'd hate seeing the eagles win a playoff game, it would be poetic justice if it came down to the eagles beating the Lions (in the first round. Fuck them winning the NFCC) on the back of a tush push. Lose to the very thing they voted to keep.

So we're supposed to believe Baker Mayfield was scared to compete with Davis Webb. :lol

I know you Raiders have your version of what happened, but here's what really happened per Baker Mayfield and his family.

Baker grew up a Sooners fan and knew that if he stayed at Tech the best he could hope for was an invite to the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl. So he left to greener pastures and took a chance to walk on at the prestigious University of Oklahoma in all it's football glory. Where the land overflows with milk and honey.

That's the way we tell the story on our side of the fence. #InBakerWeTrust
Tis a fact.

Of course not. The point is the O has a distinct advantage already in the snap count and now they are able to push their own guys where the D is not allowed. It’s why the success percentage is so high and since the eagles are the first team to have really worked on perfecting it they made it into a thing.

If my old man DC had this to say about one of our top choices, I would be kind of mad.

That pick still completely baffles me.

I get that he was value but Fangio doesn't run a scheme that showcases off-ball LB's and they just gave Baun a huge deal, and he isn't a Van Ginkel who is going to put up 10+ sacks in a hybrid type role. I also assume Nakobe Dean will come back at some point in 2025.

Fangio's defense is completely predicated on getting pressure with the front 4 and I thought it was a guarantee that they'd go DL in the first, either with an edge rusher like Ezeiruaku or Green, or an interior guy like Nolen or Harmon falling.

When their pass rush is good but not great next season after losing Sweat and Williams, and people are wondering why their defense dropped off from last year, you'll be able to trace it back to this pick.

Sucking up to Kellen Moore apparently had some perks.
