La Canfora: "People in the league believe Rams, Vikings have talked Bradford trade

5/5/2014 12:56:31 PM

Appearing on CBS Sports' 920 The Morning After show Monday, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports stated "people in the league" believe the Rams and Vikings have discussed a Sam Bradford trade according to Ryan Van Bibber of Turf Show Times.

"There are people in the league who believe there have been discussions with the Vikings," said La Canfora, who in mid-April penned a column hypothetically suggesting Bradford could be traded. "Rams people have denied any conversations whatsoever," La Canfora allowed, making it clear St. Louis would only entertain the Bradford-trade idea if they drafted a quarterback. It is known that the Rams have privately worked out Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and some in the organization infatuated with the dynamic playmaker. It seems very doubtful the Rams would take Manziel No.2 overall but it is not out of the question that they would grab him as "the best player available" if he somehow fell down to their No.13 selection.

Still, it seems highly doubtful that Bradford will be traded. Perhaps the biggest obstacle in the way of a Bradford deal is his contract. Arguably the most overpaid player in football today, Bradford is owed a $14.015 million salary. His deal would almost certainly have to be restructured for a trade to be worked out. Bradford is also rehabbing from an ACL tear but is expected to be ready by training camp.

I think this is BS also.

Why would Minnesota do this?
