But I can't say that Saleh has done a good job or that the Jets failures during his entire tenure haven't been his fault or that he doesn't deserve to be fired.
I think he is a really good defensive coordinator. But I'm with you about head coaching. Your job is the entire team. Sure Rodgers fucked him. But to some extent it's his fault for letting that happen. He lost all control of fixing the offense the second they traded for Rodgers.

I think the Head Coach should be held accountable for both sides of the ball, regardless of his area of expertise.
Generally this is how I feel as well but this was one of those rare situations where the Jets owner and GM essentially handed the keys to the franchise over to Rodgers in order to lure him to New York.

Saleh probably didn't want any of those former Packers players and he certainly didn't want Hackett. I just can't bring myself to hold him accountable for the failures of the OC, GM, and QB.

Well of course not. This reminds me of the ridiculous trend in the NBA to almost let the star player GM and run the team. It's absurd, especially with someone as old as Rodgers.

I agree. The players should not be running the franchise. Even if they have the best of intentions and are pretty smart, they don't have the vision that someone with a much bigger view has and whose job it is to plan these things out.

But in Saleh's case, it already wasn't working before they brought Rodgers in and it hasn't been working since. I don't think he's a good HC who is just a victim of circumstances, which appears to be the common sentiment on Reddit right now. He had his chances.

Yeah, I will say that on Twitter a lot of Jets fans said, "About time." Reddit is much younger and woker so maybe that played a part.

Damn, it's so early into the season.

And there's no way I'll ever be convinced that Aaron Rodgers didn't have something to do with this.

Why the hell would you put any stock, much less enough to affect the coaching situation, in a guy this freaking old?

Morons.

It would have entirely different optics if he was playing well at least. He has looked like complete shit.
