Actually obesity among the impoverished is pretty common. It's even a growing issue in the 3rd world. Food is cheap AF, especially if you just eat junk. The average American eats around 100,000 calories per year. If you exclusively ate little Debbie moon pies, you could get 100000 cal for about 500 bucks.
