I agree, if the owner had to mandate he couldn't call plays any longer then he should have just fired him a long time ago. But that's not an argument to keep Garrett longer.

What’s the point of having an offensive coordinator if the HC is going to call the plays? Everyone was up at arms when Garrett was calling plays.

A source told ESPN's Ed Werder that after showing an "abundance of care and respect," for Garrett, Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have decided the coach will not be part of the organization moving forward.

This is pretty abrupt after "They're going to have 5 more meetings, Jason is still making his pitch" etc.

My guess is someone they have an eye on has started scheduling interviews (Greg Roman?) or their college target (Riley?) was getting antsy with recruiting getting into full swing again in a couple of weeks.
