I think you’d have to. Garrett is no longer coach and Jerry is no longer GM. You take that new arrangement because it fucking has to be better than the last 25 years.

fans refusing to watch/listen/read anything Jerry & spawn say to the point where he lost publicity like his stupid radio show would be easy for fans to do, it wouldn't cost them anything and would no doubt floor Jerry.

Just imagine 105.3 calling him to tell him his show is cancelled because no one will listen and they flood us with complaints when you're on the air

I don't think for one minute that Garrett is coming back. Don't have any damn idea what this circus is about, other than extra camera time for Jerry. But even by Jerry's moronic standards, keeping Garrett would be ridiculous. That would possibly be what pushes Cowboys faithfuls over the edge. I think hardcore fans would walk, and season ticket holders would evaporate.

All it would take is a few in the mainstream media to stand up and ignore Jerry’s “pressers” and after game secret decoder ring bullshit. Then you’d see some change.
But they all run him down like he’s some sort of superstar that just emerged from hiding.

I kind of doubt Garrett would be made McClay's direct boss. More like a random front office executive like assistant vice president or something, and it would be unclear exactly what his responsibilities are even though he'd show up randomly here and there (including in the war room).

But he shouldn't be anywhere near the team. The old failed coach looming in the background as the new coach tries to do his job? That's ridiculous.

We both know this won’t happen and not because it’s Jerry Jones but because the media criteria anymore is to promote the spectacular. Jones just happens to be a button that pushes a lot of people’s blood pressure. The more you hammer at him the more air time time he gets because of his status as a spectacular. The more you yell the more Jones you get.

You have to wonder if Jerry doesn't already have a coach sort of locked up who isn't free yet. Now that would be playoffs, could be a coach with a bowl game left. Who knows, but it seems like maybe there is some reason for the slow movement and lack of care about other teams snagging coaches.
