We still need to lose one more, seeing how the local media started excusing Garrett after just one win tells me Jerry will absolutely bring him back just making the playoffs
I don't agree with that. Garrett's gone. Jerry getting up and leaving his box before the game was over tells me that he's finally had enough. For all his faults, he's not stupid. He knows that we should have easily handled a decimated Eagles team, especially considering we were generally healthy. Add the fact that it was yet ANOTHER division loss in a win and you're in game...? Yeah, he's gone.

"It leaves, from my perspective, a lot to consider here," Jones told Jarrett Bell of USA Today. "This was a little bit of a surprise. I didn't see the Chicago Bears game coming (a 31-24 loss in Week 14) and this one was a surprise. I thought we were prepared to play. I thought we could play better out here. I'm disappointed."

Jerry is trying to find any reason to keep Garrett, and making the playoffs 2 years in a row is what I think the bar is

“In terms of the personnel group to have that be a 12 personnel play, that would be Kellen’s decision. That’s a play that we liked in that situation for the variety of coverages that they were going to play. We felt like we had good answers with that. In regards to the receiver rotation Sanjay Lal and... it’s just the communication during those on-the-ball drives. Sometimes those guys work the rotation different ways based on the routes they run and plays they’ve run and all of that.”

This should be a red flag to any team that thinks about hiring this complete asshole.

Yeah I think even Jerry realizes 10 years has been more than enough time. Especially when you consider the laundry list of talent that Garrett has been handed. Plus it feels like for the first time ever, pretty much the entire fan base and local media are pushing for a change. Jerry won't ignore that.

Oh, what? Not me, I'm just the head coach, nothing to see here.

It's so fucking obvious how this piece of shit has stuck around as long as he has. He's leveraged his personal relationship with Jerry to shift the blame anywhere else you can imagine aside from him and done just enough every other year to con the old senile fuck into keeping him while wishing upon a fucking star.

How many coordinators has he been through? How many position coaches?

It's clear as day that after 2017 Garrett threw basically the entire offensive staff under the bus, so instead of Jerry taking out his wrath on Garrett he fired every offensive position coach except for Gary Brown, along with I believe the DB's coach, and as we sit here now most of them were replaced with inexperienced guys who played under Garrett. Then last year Linehan was the fall guy, and while he deserved to be fired, it's pretty obvious that yet again Jerry took his wrath out on an underling rather than his surrogate stepson.

The fact that about 1/3rd of the coaching staff consists of guys who previously played under Garrett should tell you all you need to know. This incompetent snake piece of shit threw everybody else under the bus to save himself and then ended up hiring a bunch of schmucks who played for him to further insulate himself.

The local guys were damn near all changing their tune on Garrett after the Rams win though, I don't put it past them to suck up to Jerry and do it again if we back into the playoffs.

Go skins!!

Can't prop your post enough because I've thought this forever. People think Garrett is just a puppet, and in some ways he of course is. But I think Jerry has also been conned by Garrett all these years. He's a slick talker and smooth actor who has convinced his boss for years that it's always someone else's fault. It's Wade Phillips. It's Rob Ryan. It's Bill Callahan. It's Monte Kiffin. It's TO. It's Dez. It's even Romo. Etc.

And Jerry wasn't football-smart enough to see it.

Yup.

It's not over because the Eagles have shown that they are also a very lackluster team that can lose to anyone at any time.

It would not surprise me one bit if they went to New York and lost that game so I'm not celebrating Garrett's departure until this season is truly and completely over.

I'd say it goes beyond not being football-smart enough to know otherwise, Jerry probably had some inclination in the back of his mind given how Garrett was stripped of play-calling duties. I think Jerry was complicit in it all and willing to accept Garrett's bullshit because he wanted him to succeed so bad, and only now when he's given no choice is he willing to accept the obvious.

I don't believe that for a second. I think it's clear Jerry is done with this loser.

Ayuh.

Aside from the throwing of his coaching staff under the bus, it's an even bigger red flag for me that he didn't have enough common sense to call a timeout to make sure two of your top three WRs are on the field on such an important play.

I say it every week, Jason Garrett may be book smart, but he lacks common sense and struggles to think on his feet.

There's no way in hell he lands another OC or head coaching job in the NFL. Someone may offer him a position coach role but I'm guessing he probably think's he's outgrown those jobs, so his ego won't let him take it.
