The 49ers should eat that money for the sake of getting compensation for Kaep. They can't seriously think they can keep him and make him productive this season? IF they cut Kaep they get zero in return. They should just be thrilled they are actually getting some sort of legit draft pick compensation.

If they cut him, they'll also have to eat his full salary of ~$12M for the 2016 season.
