Deadline is tomorrow at 4:30 so let's give it a go.

The following players are mortal locks, so aside from these let's just list the additional 13 who we think make it:

QB (1): Prescott
RB (2): Elliott, Pollard
WR (5): Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, Wilson, Brown
TE (2): Jarwin, Schultz
OL (6): Smith, Williams, Biadasz, Martin, Collins, McGovern

DL (7): Lawrence, Gregory, Basham, Armstrong, Watkins, Osa, Urban
LB (5): Parsons, LVE, Neal, Jaylon, Cox
CB (5): Diggs, Brown, Lewis, Joseph, Wright
S (4): Kazee, Wilson, Hooker, Kearse
Specialists (3): Zuerlein, Anger, McQuaide

That's 40, leaving 13 roster spots.

I'm leaving out McKeon, Gallimore and Ball, who I think will make the 53, but from what I can tell they'll be put on IR by like Wednesday or Thursday so that we can bring them back this season. So for all intents and purposes we should leave them off the list for now.

Guys like Hill and Golston will obviously be on PUP/IR/whatever also.

At any rate here's what I got:

QB: Rush (don't really give a shit here since they all suck, but Jerry gushed over him recently so I'll go with him)
RB/FB: Ralston (ST's)
WR: Fehoko (simply to protect him from waivers)
TE: Sprinkle
OL: Nsheke, Steele, Farniok

DL: Hamilton, Bohanna, Carter (I'd keep Anae but I think they'll keep Carter since he has more flexibility to kick inside and rush from the interior)
LB: None
CB: Canady
S: Thompson, Mukuamu

Yesterday he totally whiffed on a block in the running game. Nor is he a pass catching machine. I can only assume he's great at special teams.

I don't think he'll be active this year at all unless something crazy happens. He was basically one of my last 2-3 guys to make it and the only reason I put him on there is because I think they'll value him as a developmental prospect given that they took him in the 5th, as opposed to burning a roster spot on Gifford or some shit.

I forgot fucking Goodwin and Fassel's ST bullshit, I think Thompson will be dropped for him.

Are either of those guys significantly better than say Mukuamu. He is bigger, faster and a solid tackler. I guess I just don't see how he couldn't at least be similar or slightly below to the point there is no noticeable difference.

Who knows, I'd guess Goodwin is way more technically sound given his experience but there's no reason Mukuamu couldn't develop into something similar if the desire is there.

I had Kearse as a lock, he played a few snaps with the "starters" against Houston and didn't even dress yesterday, he's a guarantee.
I know that they won't call him a LBer but from what I saw in preseason he may be filling more of a Keanu Neal type role if Neal gets hurt. He was definitely lining up in the box on some snaps. I think that's a bit overkill since I think Cox can do some of that role if needed but I think this is some of the thought process.

I've just never seen anything out of Goodwin that suggests to me he is some type of a rockstar on special teams. Maybe I'm not paying close enough attention but I don't see why all the love.

Interesting twist is I think we get extra spots for the moment for the covid players.

QB: Gilbert, toss up but I feel he is more
big Mike’s guy than Rush
RB/FB:
WR: Fehoko
TE: Sprinkle
OL: Nsheke, Steele, Farniok, Ball

DL: Bohanna, Carter, Anae
LB:
CB: Canady
S: Mukuamu, Thompson

This leaves out Goodwin. I would personally see if Brown could move to TE or cut him as well.

I think they keep Anae and Bohanna goes to the PS

Q.B. Looked totally gassed by the 4th quarter vs the Jags and was half-assing his pursuit after making a nice hustle tackle about midway through the 3rd quarter.

Can’t rely on that when real bullets are flying

I'm kinda hoping Gifford makes the 53. He looked really good against the Jags.

He was everywhere on Sunday. Our LBer corps is already 10 times better than last year.
