Some of the politics involved were fucked up.

But this is tin foil hat territory. That at least had a ton of suppressed history and documented violence behind it.
Some of the politics? ALL of the politics.

I’d actually argue that the underlying emotion is way more understandable here: they feel (without evidence) that an election has been stolen.

Yes, it’s tin foil hat territory - at least until there is actually some documented evidence in a court.

But the politics and motives of BLM are only loosely based on historical grievances (ie, are really based on class warfare and promoting socialism under the guise of black oppression, and the opportunism of using incidents where, most of the time, the police were in the right and thus that is why they all keep escaping prosecution, not because juries in Milwaukee are racist). BLM were unarguably way more radical and anti democratic. Not to mention way more widespread and violent, frankly.

That being said, I’m with you; anyone using violence is subject to arrest with extreme prejudice and if anyone starts burning or looting I will be defending any property owners who open fire on them to protect themselves and their livelihoods, just like I was during the Antifa and BLM riots.

The vast majority of people I have spoken to are pissed over this not because of Trump, but because of how shit has gone down over the last 4+ years. How the dems and their followers have run roughshod over anything and everything they deemed in the way of their beliefs.

This shit has been bubbling for quite some time. And it all started to come to a head over the last ten months watching antifa and blm loot, burn and destroy. While hiding behind the name of "peaceful protest". While the dems did nothing to stop it. Or even denounce it. Some elected officials actually encouraged it.

All this uncertainty with the Presidental election was just the final straw. The dems could have nipped it by wanting transparency. If they had nothing to hide, then shouldn't they have welcomed the inquiry to prove their innocence? Instead, we just got more of the same.

So, no. This isn't all about Donald Trump. To some, yeah. It is. But to the majority, this is about an attack on our free elections. People believe this election was stolen. And if it was stolen this time, what will stop it from ever happening again? Will we ever have another free election? That is what this is all about.
So well put. Dead on.

The Dems haven't run roughshod over shit. They didn't have a majority. They made things difficult.

What basically you are saying is that they are speaking out about things that oppose their beliefs. And that offends them.

But the Democrats haven't been running over anything.

But they sure as shit will now, they better be ready for that shit.

Partisanship is what this is all about. And a little smidge of racism that absolutely nobody wants to admit.

Was it stolen with Bush/Gore? Shit was just as shady back then but hey, we didn't have a sitting President bitching about it for months before and weeks after the goddamn election.

I didn't see people going apeshit then.

So please, don't try to boil it down to the act of people acting on noble principles.

It's idiots at work.

The solution to all this division is to just divide up into a bunch, like maybe 50 or so different states and then let people who want socialism live in one of those states and people who want capitalism live in another state.

If only we could work some system out like that.

They need to stand down or be dealt with just like Antifa. No excuses.
If they deal with them like Antifa was dealt with then there is no reason to get upset because the things last summer were literally life and death situations for several months in several cities and no punishmment or intervention by the law enforcers. This crap is now on the other foot and the hypocrisy is at an all time high. Actually Antifas is present in this debacle also.

Sounds good. They can have the west coast and the upper north east. The rest of us can live in ease and prosperity, while they eventually chew their own leg off because of the trap they set for themselves.

Impressed that Congress is reconvening.

And pleased to see that they are acknowledging this horseshit in real time.

I guess a bunch of crazed Trumpies scared them.

We kind of already live in that.

I know I would rather slit my own throat than move to California.

And, we would have good position with the mountains in the way of any decent attack.

Great post.

Anyone know Mark Rippetoe from Starting Strength? I thought said it perfectly after the election: "We've never seen anything like this. They're trying to take our republic away from us. They're telling us that they're in charge and we just live here." That's it. And that goes well beyond Donald Trump.

Exactly. This isn't just about one election. It's an affront to our country and what is was built on.

So was the election stolen from Al Gore?

Or is this somehow different?

I get this needs to looked at. I think it could be easy to hack poll locations etc.

But Trump had plenty of lawsuits to prove it and he got clowned, every single time.
