I think all he is saying there is that they are going to attempt to resign Leary. He acknowledges that he could leave and that it would be difficult to sign him. Now maybe it's too optimistic because I don't think this a snowballs chance in he'll that we resign him.

As a GM he has to at least try to resign Leary, and if he tries even half-heartedly his public stance should be consistent.

Frankly I can't see it, and it is definitely a huge loss.
