No the bears owe him that 13.5 .. I believe.. hence why we got him on the cheap here .. Jerry prob told him fuck off you ain’t double dippin :lol
Nothing you are saying here is correct.

The length of Eberflus' contract is not known. And we certainly didn't get him "on the cheap". Because of his bears contract or not. It's been reported that he's being paid 4 mil a year. Just behind Vic Fangio's 4.5 mil per.

We didn't get him cheap. He's one of the highest paid DCs in the league from what I saw.
As of the 2025 NFL season, the highest-paid defensive coordinators are Vic Fangio of the Philadelphia Eagles, Matt Eberflus of the Dallas Cowboys, and Steve Spagnuolo of the Kansas City Chiefs, with annual salaries of $4.5 million, $4 million, and $3.5 million, respectively

That's insane if the Cowboys are really paying the worst defensive coordinator in the NFL as though he is the best.

I didn't realize Eberflus was nearly the highest-paid DC.

As coach's salaries don't impact the salary cap, the team should have the capacity to lure some of the top assistants in the league.

Will they still owe him for 2026 even if he's fired?

Sadly that will have an impact on what Jerry is willing to spend.

The most profitable team in sports should not have those bounds.

Here is my thing and please hear me out.

Eberflus came to Dallas with Rob Ryan.

You can see some remnants of that 4-6 idea but he is too chicken shit.

Bring in Rex and the whole feet thing?

I'm shocked that we're paying Eberflus that much. That makes me skeptical that we'd fire him and waste all that money. Hopefully it was a one year deal.
