And a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut.

It's stupid to keep trotting his opinion out as if he has a legitimate foundation to speak. He's a nutball so of course he feels aggrieved.

It doesn't mean he's wrong; but it's telling that two much more respectable leaders on this football team who didn't run around chirping about favoritism and racism like a crazy person, generally don't seem to have a problem worth airing every ten seconds.

Dez has an obvious axe to grind which is why he takes every opportunity to rant about it. Agenda means lack of credibility.

He might have tripped and fell into a take that is technically true but his evidence on the subject is still phony.
And I don't care about any of that. Just like I don't care that Witten and Romo don't say a thing about their buddy. But the fact still remains. He's right. Even if you don't like the message. Even if you don't like the messenger. He's right.

From OHfficial (@OHfficial26): If he doesn’t re-sign the 3/4 rd expected comp pick would be for 2027, correct?

Albert Breer: OH, yes, that’s correct. And that all depends on how well he plays, how much he gets paid and the role he’d play in 2026 with a new team.

The centerpiece of the trade being a third-round pick does relate to that. For Dallas, if Pickens plays well, and the Cowboys decide they can’t afford to pay him with CeeDee Lamb already making $34 million per year, then there’s a good chance they’d land a 2027 third-round pick back for their ’26 third-rounder, having gotten the year of service out of Pickens.

Pickens' detractors will note he isn't particularly adept at separating from defenders. That said, the 24-year-old's average separation of 2.3 yards per target last season is actually slightly better than that of Brandin Cooks, who served as Dallas' No. 2 receiver when healthy last season. Cooks averaged 2.2 yards of separation in 10 games, good for fourth-to-last among qualified receivers, per NFL's Next Gen Stats.

Well I don’t care about any of that, he’s not right.

It’s not that I don’t like the messenger. It’s that his message is faulty.

Yeah... and you have a history of defending anything and everything Red Headed Albatross.

Think I'll go with the guy that actually knows and played for him.

Yeah but we have a QB who is actually a great leader. Name me a single leader on that Pitt offense?

This is like Dez, it can be done if you have the right players around him.
I think this is one of Dak's strengths. He understands politics and gets the locker room on his side.

Pickens will be happy with a few good looks a game, I feel like it won't take much to keep him fed and the D to back off Lamb just enough

Yeah, remember, we had Cooper/Lamb/Gallup at one time with non-washed up Ezekiel Elliott. Technically only Cooper broke 1,000, but Gallup and Lamb each had like 800-900. I don't foresee a third WR getting that much this year so two 1000 yard receivers is possible.

(And we still didn't get past the divisional round, thanks Dak).
And both Zeke and the OL were on their last effective legs, the elite moments for each fewer and further between.

In theory we've filled out the talent except for TE and DT2, where I think the return of Ferg from two years ago would be amazing but there's no indicator that's happening. As for DT2, well you all know that's still broke, especially with a DT1 who's not so hot vs the run ...

I still wouldn't do it. Dude is a lunatic. And he didn't even have a true #1 taking throws away from him like he would here with CeeDee.
I will admit, I'm pessimistic. But I just can't remember a trade like this working out for us that well. Hopefully, I'm wrong.
Amari Cooper was the best trade for a receiver that worked out in a long time.

I was looking at the other rosters in the division to kind of compare where we stand after the trade and what really struck me, that I didn't fully realize before, is that the Skins are fucking old and don't have much top tier young talent.

I don't think many people realize it because Daniels is the headliner and he's 24 or whatever, but look at their offense: McLaurin, Ekeler, Ertz and Tunsil are all 30+. Deebo will turn 30 later in the season but his body has been through the ringer with his play style, so I doubt he'll be effective for more than maybe the next 2ish years at most.

Bobby Wagner is arguably their best defensive player and he'll be 35 this year.

Where is the young talent outside of Daniels?

Sainristil? Newton? They only had 3 picks in the first 5 rounds this past year.

Every team in the division has youngish cornerstone, All Pro, potential HOF type players, the Skins have Daniels and ????

I think trading all those picks for Tunsil and Deebo in an attempt to win now is going to come back to bite them in the next year or two unless they have another horseshoe up their ass in 2025 that lands them in the NFCC again.
Yeah but regardless of all that, they still went further in the playoffs and got to the NFCC the the Cowboys. It’s rather frustrating. It seems like no matter what this team just finds a way to not make the NFCC year after year

Interestingly enough it coincided with them drafting a QB high and having it pan out. As well as hiring a competent coach and coming once their meddling owner was out of the picture.

Breer is painting the best case scenario. Pickens would have to sign a mega-contract to get a third. That is not going to happen.
