So, can we call them GLOATed?I chuckled at GLOAT - Greatest Line Of All Time
Would you go for Yard Birds?I chuckled at GLOAT - Greatest Line Of All Time
Or if they get one, it should come organically down the road.I don't think they need a name.
Fuddy duddy.I don't think they need a name.
As long as Chris God Damned Bermann has no hand in it.Or if they get one, it should come organically down the road.
They don'tI don't think they need a name.
Yep.Or if they get one, it should come organically down the road.
IF a secondary gets nickname like the Legion of Boom (The least important position on a football team) certainly an offensive line this good must have a nickname. They don't
Lies, damned lies and statistics. Trick plays average a lot of yardage and scores per use because they are big plays when they work, but nobody's going to start running a flea flicker based offense. Empty backfield is a gimmick. Great when it works but dangerous to the QB's health and unreliable. And yet according to broadcast crews, the empty backfield was the most successful alignment.
I agree. We had the Doomsday Defense in the '70's/early 80's. But even in the SB years of the '90s I don't recall any name for our great OL or DL. Same way with people trying to force a nickname on players using their first initial and part of their last name. Not everybody or position needs a contrived name.I don't think they need a name.
Small sample size is why. I don't mind the empty backfield situationally but I absolutely hate it in any short yardage situation.Lies, damned lies and statistics. Trick plays average a lot of yardage and scores per use because they are big plays when they work, but nobody's going to start running a flea flicker based offense. Empty backfield is a gimmick. Great when it works but dangerous to the QB's health and unreliable.
Sturm provided hard data illustrating the major success of the formation .And yet according to broadcast crews, the empty backfield was the most successful alignment.
Either I lost my mind, but the "Great Wall" thing was never a deal in 1990s. It seems like it only got coined with the recent thing on NFLN.I agree. I never heard it before the NFLN thing as well but you still could be losing your mind.Either I lost my mind, but the "Great Wall" thing was never a deal in 1990s. It seems like it only got coined with the recent thing on NFLN.
I've never heard it back then.Either I lost my mind, but the "Great Wall" thing was never a deal in 1990s. It seems like it only got coined with the recent thing on NFLN.
