There's absolutely no excuse for not going hard after Trufant. Still relatively young, very productive last year, no compensatory concerns, was drafted by Nolan, so on and so forth.

I'm just going to assume this Canady signing is a Fassel-special who we want as a core ST'er/4th or 5th CB.
And thats ok, I don't mind that kind of signing but it's a roster filler. Trufant makes too much sense.

Is Xavier Rhodes still available? I'd consider him too. But Dallas is probably afraid a signing like that or Trufant would hinder their ability to draft a first round corner.

Both still available, along with Logan Ryan, PJ Williams, Mackensie Alexander, etc, etc.

Yeah I like Logan Ryan too. Just make it so you don't have to force a corner in the first round of the draft. Especially once CJ Henderson is off the board.

Forbath returns.

Cool, i’ll take it. Can’t ask more from a guy who didn’t miss for us last year, not that there were really any options available that I thought were better.

My only fear is that they will call this good expecting to draft one high.
I'd be fine rolling with what we have at CB right now, but like you I worry that they have our 1st earmarked for one. I'd be fine drafting one in the 2-4 range if the value is there but I wouldn't force it and would let the value come to me.

What astounds me is that we gave a borderline starting caliber player coming off a major injury 5/year when there are guys like Danny Shelton and Linval Joseph out here getting signed for about the same money.

Did you see numbers where it was confirmed at $5 million a year?

Lewis, Awuzie, and Brown. Those three are good enough.

Take some more steals like Lewis and Brown in the later rounds and we good at CB.

No more 1sts on CB for awhile please.

It's going to be fun when we take Henderson at 17 instead of Chaisson or Kinlaw because we decided to ignore guys who could start (Harris at just 2/20, etc.) and instead signed a JAG schlub in Canady and a guy in Brown they probably don't want to be more than a nickel/slot CB.

Of course Michael Pierce is now off the board too, he got more than I expected at 3/27, but that's something these guys could've easily afforded if they cut Crawford and opened up $8 million in space. They quite literally could've effectively traded Crawford for Pierce or even Reader/Hargrave, but instead they've seemingly opted to keep the 31 year old coming off a serious injury.

A'Shawn Robinson is about the only run-stuffer left, although at this point I'd be happy with a Derek Wolfe or Shelby Harris. They aren't the 1-T types we've all wanted for about 10 years but they are very solid interior pass-rushers who could help us cobble together a pass rush given that all we have right now is Lawrence/McCoy/Gregory.
