Who cares, the point is to give some new schools a taste at a chance. In the old format they had no chance. And 3 losses still shouldn't give you a chance. I don't care if a team like SMU or Indiana gets beat. A team like that is eventually going to go on a run and it will be fun.

Don't get beat down by Oklahoma and Vanderbuilt if you want in. Hell Vanderbuilt would be an underdog too but they beat Alabama.
