I believe Dallas was relieved Murray declined their offer.
They simply don't want to spend their money on an injury-prone RB, no matter how great a season he just had. They'd rather insure their OL or key front seven player was signed and in place.
You've got to agree with that logic regardless of how you feel about Murray.
That said, you must make up the difference in the draft. You draft high, skip a year, then draft low at RB, skip a year, repeat. The combination will leave you very strong at RB-- a critical position for a run-first team.
You have to pay somewhere.
