No doubt. Terribly slow at almost every position. Tuinei, Newton, and Gogan were awful, and Landry started them frankly because they were all over 300 pounds and he wanted to model the OL after Washington's.

It's weird that 3 future pro bowlers could be that bad. But then Gogan was out of position at RT at the time.

The coaching staff was terrible and the offense couldn't generate much. The defense was on the field so much that some wanted to build a house on the fifty yard line to make it closer to work.

True. It's just natural growth combined with the addition of a stud in Big E. A guy like that can make a huge difference on any OL. Gesek's contributions as a leader and a pro were also very underrated.

Remarkable what confidence, practicing the right way, and playing as a team can do (plus probable use of PED's in Tuinei, Gogan, and Newton's case).

I think those guys did anything they could to become competitive. Gut feel, nothing else.
