I heard they nailed Jerry's balls to his chair when Manziel fell to number 16.Manziel or a RG? Seems like a no-brainer to me. Grab the franchise player. You can always trade him because his initial contract will be relatively cap friendly.
I think we got the better player. Yeah, I said it.Manziel or a RG? Seems like a no-brainer to me. Grab the franchise player. You can always trade him because his initial contract will be relatively cap friendly.
Damn. You have a fricking point. Damn.Your idea is novel, but your GM views 3rd and 4th rounders as throw away picks anyways. I'd rather take a chance on a QB than another frikkin special teamer.
It's about talent, and Martin has talent.Manziel or a RG? Seems like a no-brainer to me. Grab the franchise player. You can always trade him because his initial contract will be relatively cap friendly.
Well, at least we have a RG. If Romo goes down again and we go 1-15, we can draft the crab thief from Florida State.Hell is going to break loose when Romo retires. It's going to be retreads and ex-AAA. We'll be scouting our QBs by buying baseball card packs.
The only presumptive #1 overall pick following one CFB season I've ever seen actually go #1 overall following the next season was Andrew Luck. I guess Peyton Manning was, but I started following the draft in 1998, so I don't know if he was viewed as a stone cold mortal lock back in 97. Something tells me Winston will get picked apart and his stock will fall.Well, at least we have a RG. If Romo goes down again and we go 1-15, we can draft the crab thief from Florida State.
I believe Manning was viewed that way after his junior season, of course I was about 10 at the time so hey.The only presumptive #1 overall pick following one CFB season I've ever seen actually go #1 overall following the next season was Andrew Luck. What physical skills does he lack?Damn. You have a fricking point. Damn.
It's about talent, and Martin has talent.
Manziel was great in college but I just don't see it translating to the NFL. He lacks physical skills and is ridiculously full of himself. A 4 pick day where his OL lets him get crushed is in his future. Does he have the body and heart to withstand it? I just don't believe it.
I think the best QB taken in the 1st round was the last one, Bridgewater. Some think he could have gone 1st overall. When there's that much dissension about a position, I tend to doubt there are many true franchise players among them.
I agree here 100%. Johnny will sell tickets and that's about it. I do believe he will win a few games with his crazy shit and mobility...but he's not a long term solid QB.Damn. You have a fricking point. Damn.

Size, height, and arm-strength.What physical skills does he lack?
