Seems like China's itch to take Taiwan is getting worse by the day.

If China used everything it had to enforce a naval blockade plus a no fly zone around and over Taiwan, quickly followed by a heavy Chinese bombing campaign, would America directly intervene to break the blockade and send troops onto the Island?

In the situation of Ukraine, America's task is easier because they can supply Ukraine from it's western borders. In Taiwan a blockade would somewhat prevent most goods from being delivered.

If America decided to break the blockade, that would mean some kind of intense naval battle. War games that American officials conducted showed that there was a good chance America could break the blockade and save Taiwan, but at a very high cost which included the loss of two aircraft carries and other ships being sank.

Would you break the blockade and send troops, or would you leave Taiwan to it's own defenses?

I would let the rest of the world kill each other if that’s what they want to do. I would also cut off all foreign aid and change our phone number.

It was pretty disappointing to see that amazing flip flop on Taiwan.

That was basically bending over and taking it up the ass.

If there were an "unprovoked attack", that would be about the only time sending troops would ever be considered.
