My teeny tiny itsy bitsy inner homer is also encouraged by our new rush options.

I can't see how our rush isn't really good as long as everyone doesn't get hurt again.

Not sure about our secondary, though. And of course run defense, but maybe Eberflus can do something there.

What I'm homering on, or at least liking, is how big our offense might be. Our OL with Thomas is huge. We're running more 12 personnel and using a fullback. I don't know if you can just overpower defenses anymore, but it would be fun to try in a sport that's gone to so many spread offenses at every level.

It's ok to think that the team should be good to very good, with double digit regular season wins roughly, while also acknowledging that they're very unlikely to do anything in the playoffs.

Sure, if Dak misses another half a season or so, in which case we should be in prime position to draft our next QB, so whatever.

So the reports were accurate and he is working on it.

I will say that Schottenheimer’s kid is one of those high E.Q. leaders.

Watched every video I could possibly find on Thomas since he's been here and I'm fully homering out. His feet are a lot better than I thought they'd be. And he looks to be in better shape than when he first got here. Will the quickest rush ends give him problems, probably, like they do everyone. But I don't think you'll have to worry about him being bull rushed, well, pretty much ever. Kneeland has some power to him and when he runs into Thomas it's like he hit a brick wall.

Can we get Tyron back to tutor him like he was Guyton? Or even Jason Peters - that's who Thomas kind of reminds me of.

I actually had the same thought about Peters, they look very similar physically. Not exactly the lean, long type you imagine at LT, but kind of just a thick square block who is hard to get around.

I think Thomas might actually have a bit more length than Peters, and obviously if he can ever be even 75% of what Peters was we'd be well on our way to a 2014-16 OL situation.

Long way to go but there's definitely promise there, worst case scenario we have an awesome swing OT.
