Random Thoughts:
-We have the best WR group in the league. I don't think Lamb/Pickens are the best duo, they're probably top 3, but when you consider the depth with guys like Turpin who made a bunch of big plays against the Packers, Flournoy today, Tolbert and even Mingo when he's back, I don't think there's another team that can stack up 5-6 WR's like that.
-I don't know what the heck happened to Dak last year but he looks like the 2023 guy who finished 2nd in MVP voting. I don't really understand how his pocket presence was so bad last year, and how its now so good again, but here we are. Maybe it's just as simple as being in better shape and feeling more confident in the scheme.
-The defense is still mostly shit but I think there might be some glimmers that they could get to league average within a few weeks. There will surely be some more absolute shit shows along the way but hopefully Eberflus can figure something out.
-The Jets have some solid OL talent (Fashanu at LT, Membou at RT, Tippman at center) and played some really good pass rushes: Steelers (scored 32, only gave up 1 sack), Bucs (scored 27, gave up 4 sacks), and Bills (scored 10, gave up 4 sacks), so I don't think our 5 sacks should be completely written off, even if it felt like a "everything goes right game". The pass rush today felt exactly the same as the avalanche type games we had from 2021-23 in the Parsons/Quinn era, so that's something.
-Houston needs to be extended as cheap as they can get him, he just has a natural pass rushing instinct even if it doesn't always look pretty.
-Ezeiruaku is flashing more but I really don't think the guy is anything more than a designated pass rusher in a 4-3, he's just so small to play DE full-time. Like Parsons he fits better in a 3-4, although I still think he's a future double digit sack guy even as a DPR, and I'm taking that every day of the week in the 2nd.
-Pretty sure most of Hall's big runs came right through the gap Mazi got blown out of, please stop playing him.
-Nate Thomas needs to be our LT going forward, let Guyton/Steele sort themselves out at RT.
-It's going to be really funny when Javonte Williams ends the year like 4th in the league in rushing but doesn't make the Pro Bowl. Probably a good thing as far as a future extension.
-Pickens has tied his career high in TD's in a season in just 5 games, I think he might actually take a discount to stay here given his little bromance with Lamb.
-It was nice for once to not have to watch the defense give up a chunk play on 80% of the drives, but I'm sure it'll be short-lived.
-Saquon Barkley is cooked - 89 rushes for 297 yards averaging 3.3 YPC over the first 5 games, and it's going to catch up to them very soon. It's going to sound crazy, but I think there's like a 30% chance that they miss the playoffs, especially if their OL gets a little bit more banged up (Landon Dickerson has had issues all year and couldn't finish the game today).
