Positive:
-The Giants have arguably the best DL in the league and in a game where we threw 50+ times I didn't feel like they were a huge problem, especially in the second half/OT. Guyton is still rough around the edges but he's definitely improved, and there were several times where he held up well enough 1-on-1 with Burns and Carter. If he can continue improving he may be the answer at LT after all.
-If Parsons got 47/year I feel like Aubrey deserves what, 35? 38? He's almost certainly our best player relative to their standing at their position across the league.
-Nice to see Ferguson make a few plays finally, probably his best game since 2023, hopefully this sparks him a bit.
-I appreciate the fact that Schottenheimer is really trying to integrate the RB's into the passing game, the issue is that we have the worst RB group in the league.
-Lamb/Pickens are going to be unstoppable as long as the OL can keep Dak upright.
-The run defense was strong again, obviously the opponent isn't great but I don't think it's a fluke.
-Kenneth Murray is underrated, he's nowhere near elite and has his share of fuckups, but he's about the only playmaker we have at LB right now. I think he had 2 TFL's and was in on the 4th down breakup in the 3rd after the Dak INT. Please stay healthy Overshown.
-Kenny Clark might be our best defensive player as sad as that is. Odighizuwa is a better pass-rusher but when you consider how stout Clark is against the run, I think it might be him.
-Booker still looks legit, didn't see much of anything out of Lawrence today. Still some rough edges to iron out but he's a player.
-While I hate the fact that Williams is our starter, I can't blame him for the organization's shitty decisions. I appreciate that he battles the way he does, and that he's such a good receiver out of the backfield, even if he's very limited as a starter.
Negative:
-The performance out of the secondary was reminiscent of our defense at its worst last year when they were just completely discombobulated and chasing ghosts with no obvious reasons why. I have no idea what exactly is behind it because there were so many blown coverages, but I think the biggest part of it is the DB's just don't know what they're doing in the zone-heavy stuff Eberflus likes to run. They seemed to all just be floating out in space with no real understanding of what they were doing or why. Like why are you 8 yards off on 3rd and 5 and not driving on the ball as soon as you see the WR's cutting off routes near the line to gain?
-If that assumption is true, it's not so much a physical/talent thing and more of a coaching thing, but one issue that I do think is physical/talent is with Elam. He gave up literally the only play the Eagles made downfield last week to Dotson, and then multiple times today he looked like he had no idea when the ball was coming at him. I'd consider benching him once Bland is back and rolling with Diggs/Bland on the outside and Steward on the inside, who actually looked like he might be decent.
-The Giants had a million penalties, but so did we. Some were phantom (Pickens PI in OT) but I think we had at least 3, maybe 4 on special teams, which is inexcusable and flipped the field position battle a few times.
-Watching our RB's is so painful, they all seem to be running to darkness and have no ability to make a guy miss or make plays beyond what is blocked, generally speaking. Williams somehow stumbled into a few nice runs, and he's definitely a nice checkdown option, but at the end of the day he's a good RB2, the fact that he'll probably be our top guy the rest of the year is going to be difficult to watch.
-Dak is holding the ball way too long, although overall I can't complain too much with the performance as a whole.
-They can extend Sam Williams for a 2022 Dorance Armstrong-like deal (i.e. 2/15) but they better not give him anything significant. He's a nice rotational piece if he isn't doing retarded shit, but he's not a guy you want as a long-term starter.
-Why in the fuck did they give Luepke any sort of extension when he plays about 11 offensive snaps a game?
