My understanding is that no they can't, but they can affect the outcome for the division because if they win out it changes the tiebreaker. If it ends up a two way tie between Carolina and TB, TB wins the tiebreaker. But if it's a 3 team tie apparently Carolina would win that because instead of head to head the tiebreaker would flip to division record.

If our defense had put up 7 of them, probably.

The 49ers defense can be taken advantage of by good offenses because they've been hit so hard with injuries. They're well coached and can look good against average and worse offenses, but I think they can be taken advantage of by some of the better offenses in the league.
