Again, just replying to whichever clown said we cant hang with the big boys. Smitty, Ace, or Sheik. Can't tell them apart.
I don't think any of us said we couldn't hang with them.

I know Smitty and I both essentially said that doesn't move the needle for us because hanging with them is nothing new.

How about actually conquering them for once and being a big boy ourselves?

The Eagles defense is not good this year, Carter or no.

Fangio made some good adjustments to bring pressure, but there is not a lot of talent. They don’t match up well vs Detroit, Green Bay, or maybe even the Rams
I'll say this, I feel good about our chances next time against the Eagles.

I don't feel good but at least I feel confident this isn't going to be a miserable season. I think we will be a good football team. No one here thinks we are winning the Superbowl. But I feel like this is a team that will get better as the season goes on. These guys are all learning new schemes and we played a very talented team. I feel confident saying we aren't going to be embarrassing to watch. But how much we improve will tell us ultimately how far we can go. But if we can be a good team this year. Return guys with the extra money and have 2 first round picks at least it feels like we could build towards something.
We won’t be miserable but we all know how this will end.

An aging team that everyone will look at as underachieving in the end. This will not be a “we are building towards something,” ending that makes you feel like you have momentum heading into next season. Just another wasted year. And then we will lose a few free agents, add no one of any importance, have a decent draft, and do it all over again with Dak just one year older and no better.

You talk like we never beat the Eagles. Dak has a pretty good history against them. Should have improved that record tonight. We didn't. But the talent gap isn't what most of us thought it was.

And I don't think Dak played poorly by any means, but he isn't good enough.

He missed a number of key throws and he just struggles to much to put bad plays behind him.

He wasn't the reason why we lost this game, but we win this game with a true difference-maker at the position.

Now now.

You’re going off script.

Remember…

Dak sucks. Now Cee Dee sucks. Even if they bounce bac and lead us to the playoffs, we’re going to lose.

Positively NO positivity!

If you mean it ends in a playoff loss? Yeah probably. Not really sure why you say aging other than Dak, but I know that's who you're talking about.

There’s a difference between saying “you played like shit and cost us the game,” and “you didn’t elevate the team when it mattered most.”

Dak rarely is the former but too often the latter. Which is kinda the problem. He doesn’t lose us games either mistakes, but… season opener. Division rival defending champ on the road. Make a statement.

188 yards. Blame 3 drops.

Some of you are S tier doomers. I feel good after this game.
There were some things to be encouraged about, like the unexpectedly good play of the secondary (minus Elam’s terrible coverage on one play). The young OL also got some push in the running game (though the rookie got confused by Fangio’s stunts).

I also like how the front seven toughened up after the rain delay, and George Pickens also played well (when Dak threw to him, that is).

Miles Sanders is washed. Get Blue some god damned carries.

Dak— again no killer instinct. He’s just a guy out there trying to take what the defense gives him and he’ll never learn to create his own opportunities.

Gutless not to come away with a win. That second to last drive before the end of the first half— brutal. Squandered opportunity. Same old bullshit.

I'll be surprised if we see Lamb have a game that bad with drops the rest of the season. So yeah, not sure how anyone can be ultra negative on this one. The clutch throws where there. The clutch receiver got open. And the team that didn't play any preseason showed rust.

Going 9-5 over the last several years isn’t just hanging. It’s winning

I thought someone said it.

Most people thought we'd get our ass kicked tonight. We threw that game away. Philly didn't stop the Dallas offense one time. That's what sucks.

Defense played much better as the game went on. People thought they were going to run over us. We held the RB's in check for the most part. We'll see how the season shakes out.

I prefer to try to enjoy the season vs being all doomsday negative like some of you. To each his own.

I think Pickens will get more involved as the season goes on. Again, first live action for Dak and Pickens. And frankly Lamb was open a lot in this game. But I also think Pickens catches those balls.

It's just such a seesaw with him.

On the drive Sanders fumbled on, he should have made a better throw to Ferguson but badly underthrew him.

Then he comes back with a great throw that Ferguson drops.

Then on that final drive, he makes his best throw of the game on a deep ball that CD drops.

But on the 4th and 3? CD has 2 steps on the defender but has to attempt an acrobatic diving catch because Dak overthrows him.

His passes also lacked zip tonight too.

I hope his velocity isn't going to be a problem this year.

Yea, I get the negativity when we clearly suck, but you got to at least wait and see on a team that looks like they should make the playoffs. There will be plenty of time for negativity when the other shoe inevitably drops.

Aren't we one of the 2 or 3 youngest teams in the league?

I thought we would get blown out. And honestly there was a point after the first half that I was wondering if there was a record for giving up a TD on every drive of a game. But the defense got their shit together. And Lamb just went ice cold after the break.

The reason to be ultra negative is because the positives are capped by the mediocrity of a quick playoff exit yet again and it’s blatantly obvious. This is the same show we have seen the past 20 years. The negative is that even in winning 10 games this team is an empty suit, a paper tiger. You can see everything you need to about this team in one game tonite. The story is written in stone.

This team will fumble away chances to be better than unspectacular. Zero percent chance of anything else. They aren’t good enough talent wise or well enough coached.

I used to try and be that way but it's just not a lot of fun anymore watching the team operate way it does and always fail the same way every year.

That's why I've gradually become more emotionally invested in college football in recent years because at least when my team loses there, it's not due to the same repeated incompetent mismanagement.
