They just hung with the big boys. What are you talking about?
We just lost by choking down the stretch. Like we always do.

Same old shit. Rinse and repeat. This isn’t a one-off that we can say “well they’ll get em next time.”

This is a tried and true formula. We lose these games. It’s why we don’t ever win in the playoffs.

Not trying to be overdramatic but this is like the worst case scenario. They clearly remain stuck in neutral and not good enough to hang with the big boys.

Yet they aren’t gonna bottom out so we can hope to get an elite talent in here or affect real organizational change as fans get disgruntled. They will win their 9 or 10 games and lose early in the playoffs, or be eliminated the final week of the regular season or something, just enough to string us along and keep us paying again next year.
The eagles are a loaded squad. The fact that we even stayed with them shows improvement. We aren’t winning anything until we get to use those picks. It was first round picks that reloaded Philly.

That's the thing though -- we always hang with them.

What about actually winning one of these?

It's just like the 2021 season opener at Tampa.

A moral victory because we hung with the defending champs on their field on opening night, but of course, we didn't win.

And how did that season end? In the same disappointment it always does.

This loss is very frustrating because of just how many plays these guys left out on the field and it's just year after year of this.

You have to drive the offense more than 188 yards through the air. You think Mahomes or Josh Allen doesn’t have to deal with 2 or 3 drops in a game ever? I suspect they still manage to throw for more than 188 yards.

Lamb drops one, elite QBs find a first down on the next play.

Dak doesn’t find first down strikes at a high enough rate so drops are fatal to our offense.

I’m speaking about in comparison to elite QBs, the ones who win all the time.
Lamb dropped two 3rd down conversions plus the big deep shot on the last drive of the game.

That's different than "2 or 3 drops" over the course of the game.

Dude what are you talking about? I’m Prescott’s biggest critic but other than two or maybe three passes Dak played very well tonight. He wasn’t anywhere near the problem.
He got happy feet when things didn’t go well. His throws after Lamb’s first drop in the first half really hurt

You need to keep your cool out there.

Their defense lost a ton and their QB is mediocre. They have a great OL and elite offensive weapons.

We also went 12-5 that season, if that happens again I'll take my chances, even if you're probably right.

This game reminded me of that one quite a bit though, very tight throughout, we arguably played better, lost by the thinnest of margins.

You make no sense. Remind me of a game where you saw one of the best WR's in football drop 3, 4 passes like that in one game. He has to make that last catch, too.

Yards don't mean shit. I don't care if throws for 150 yards. Just win games. And if CeeDee catches 2 of those we win.

But Dak, blah, blah, blah.

Same shit with some of yous.

Bro last year we got run off the field by San Fran, Philly, and multiple other teams. This is a big improvement from that.

Yup. Winners get off the mat and do it again.

He rarely does. It’s why mistakes derail us so easily. He can’t overcome.

Romo was actually great at overcoming mistakes.

I was just replying to whoever said we can't hang with the big boys.

I could give a shit. I want the W.

Some of you are S tier doomers. I feel good after this game.
On one hand, it's inevitable that the other shoe will drop with this franchise, but you'd have to be sticking your head in the sand to not be encouraged after this one.

Literally everybody thought we were going to get whipped up and down the field, and we probably outplayed them overall.

Yards help you win games. Seriously man.

Again, so what?

At best, this team will be another 2021, 2022, or 2023 team.

How did all those seasons end?

2021 and 2022 ended with them playing EXACTLY like they did tonight -- leaving plays on the field in winnable games.

I'm sorry, but simply being competitive with Philly on opening night doesn't move the needle for me.

The Eagles defense is not good this year, Carter or no.

Fangio made some good adjustments to bring pressure, but there is not a lot of talent. They don’t match up well vs Detroit, Green Bay, or maybe even the Rams

I said it.

I don’t mean we can’t play a competitive game.

I mean we don’t ever hang out in the winners circle. The final fours.

We are a loser franchise. We don’t stack up. Another year of it coming up.

And of course we are better than last year. We aren’t gonna win just 5 games.

We’ll get to double digits then expose ourselves as the frauds we always are come crunch time or the playoffs.

This QB, this team, this administration… is not serious, is not good enough. I didn’t even need to see a game to know that was the truth but they are right on track to meeting my expectations yet again. But the personnel alone tells me we are mediocre.

I don't feel good but at least I feel confident this isn't going to be a miserable season. I think we will be a good football team. No one here thinks we are winning the Superbowl. But I feel like this is a team that will get better as the season goes on. These guys are all learning new schemes and we played a very talented team. I feel confident saying we aren't going to be embarrassing to watch. But how much we improve will tell us ultimately how far we can go. But if we can be a good team this year. Return guys with the extra money and have 2 first round picks at least it feels like we could build towards something.
